Wildcats Finish Spring Games with a Roaring Victory over Southern Indiana

MADEIRA BEACH, FL - The Bethune-Cookman University Softball team put on quite a show against Southern Indiana in their last game of The Spring Games. With a final score of 4-1, the Wildcats were able to finish on a high note and leave their opponents in the dust.

The game kicked off with a close call in the first inning, as Kayla Traylor was unfortunately cut down at the plate on a ball into right field. But, the Wildcats weren't deterred, and Kalley Earlington made sure to get the ball rolling in the top of the fourth with a double down the line into left field. And the team didn't stop there! Haley Parks brought Earlington home with a single to left, while Shanai Owens followed up with an infield single and helped Parks steal second before scoring on a wild pitch.

Samantha Kelly furthered the Wildcats' lead in the fifth inning, knocking in Owens from third on a bouncing single through the left side. And Earlington proved to be a double threat, coming through again in the fifth with a wall-hitting double in left center, scoring Joslynn Davis and making it 4-0.

But the Southern Indiana team wasn't ready to call it quits just yet. They rallied in the bottom of the fifth, threatening to score with a wild play that eventually ended in a double play for the Wildcats. The Screaming Eagles managed to grab a single run in the sixth inning, but it was too little too late, as the Bethune-Cookman University Softball team held on for the 4-1 victory.

The Wildcats' pitching game was nothing short of stellar, thanks to Victoria Guzman's complete game in which she allowed only one run on five hits. Guzman's performance was truly the icing on the cake for a team that played their hearts out
